On behalf of Vroom, we carried out a major overhaul and engine upgrade on the Hitachi CX900-GLS. When the machine arrived—almost 11 months ago—it was first thoroughly inspected and all hydraulic components were tested.
The following components were overhauled:
– The main and auxiliary winches were completely disassembled, fitted with new bearings and seals, tested and reinstalled.
– The hoisting winch, jib winch, net winch and top winch were overhauled in the same way.
– A new hose reel was mounted on the base of the leader for increased efficiency.
– All hydraulic cylinders were overhauled.
– Each cylinder was disassembled, inspected and chromed.
– All cylinders were fitted with new seals and, after reassembly, pressure tested. Two critical cylinders (the boom support cylinders) received a special chrome coating and the cylinder tubes were manufactured to precise tolerances.
– After reassembly, these boomsupport cylinders were fitted with high-quality holding valves to minimize the risk of internal leakage.
– In addition, the slewing ring was overhauled, along with the pump distribution box and swing drive.
– The old diesel engine was replaced with a new Volvo TAD883VC engine, fully compliant with Stage V emission standards.
– The comfort operator was also considered, with a new climate control system, upgraded seat, and modernized controls.
Following these technical works, the entire machine was sandblasted and repainted in Vroom’s signature red color, finished with a protective clear coat.
We are confident that Vroom will enjoy many trouble-free operating hours with this impressive machine!
